Students will learn and present two solo pieces at the piano.
Students will choose 1 piece in consultation with Shad - Shad will offer 5 pieces to each student, students choose 1.
A personalized written theory test based upon the theory and skills that each student has learned over the past 36 lessons.
Students under age 8 may ask for parental assistance during the assessment.
Students will identify intervals by ear. Students may choose to continue beyond the Level 1 intervals - Elementary (*Level 2); Intermediate (*Level 3 - which includes major and minor chords); and Advanced (*Level 4 - includes augmented, diminished, as well as tritone and more advanced aural skills.)
Playing scales using the correct fingering is an excellent way to build our dexterity, as well as increase our understanding and awareness of music theory. It also provides a great pathway to learning increasingly engaging repertoire.
